Smartypants

My little guy has learned how to climb up on the chairs and then onto the table. Last night I watched him climb up onto a chair to see if there was any food. He realized there was not, and then got this look on his face that I recognized. I told Todd, "watch, he's gonna climb up on the table." Sure enough, he got right up there like it was nothing. I told Todd to go get the camera and I stayed there to make sure he didn't fall. He danced around and walked back and forth. He just thought he was the king of the world. I kept grabbing his arm to make sure he didn't fall, and he would yank it away.
Then daddy came to pull him off the table and he just laughed like he knew what he had just discovered. Then later that night we had our Home Teacher over. He was giving us a message and in the middle of it he paused and said "Um, your baby's on the table". My heart just jumped because when he saw daddy coming for him he tried to get away. It was one of those cold sweat mom moments. I know he would probably be okay if he fell, but I didn't want to find out. That tile floor is hard and my baby is soft!

So we pushed all of the chairs back against the wall so he can't climb up to the table. I know it's only a matter of time before he realizes that he can push the chairs up to the table. I have been wanting to buy a tall table for a long time, so I guess I'm gonna have to hurry up and get one. I really wanted to buy some new couches first, but I think I better get a new table first instead so I can relax!

What a sweet little handful he is! When Macy was that age, we wrapped bungee cords around our chairs when we weren't using them so she couldn't pull them out and climb up them! Since then, she has climbed up on top of the piano and every countertop in this house! These crazy little ones :)

True grit, baby! By the way, if that big boy fell off the table, you should worry about your tile....cuz he is a tuff little man.
