So two nights ago the kids were playing in the backyard. After a while, Ameliah came running in the house pointing at her mouth. She wasn't saying anything; she just had this look of panic on her face and kept pointing into her mouth. At first I just thought she had tried to swallow a little stick or rock and it was caught in her throat. So I look all around in her mouth and there is no sign of anything stuck or lodged. So, I figured whatever it was was far enough down that she should just wash it down with some water. So, I handed her a cup and made her drink. By this point, she had escalated into screaming. I asked her "Ameliah, tell mommy what you put in your mouth. What did you eat?" To which she replied, "A banana". I thought: That's strange, there are no bananas outside. Then I saw the chili plant. I immediately knew the fire that she must be experiencing. It was so sad, but at the same time, I couldn't help laughing!She was fine as long as she had a cracker or milk in her mouth, but the second it was gone, the screaming would resume. That went on for about ten minutes and then she seemed to calm down. I don't know if you can tell from the picture above, but her little lips were bright red. When the fire was gone and she was still a little teary she said "Sorry about my face, mom." Bless her little heart!

Oh, what a sweetie! I couldn't help but laugh but at the same time... poor thing! She's such a cutie thinking she was eating a banana. ahh

Love the story! I am sad she had to suffer just to entertain all of us. But it worked!
You must save those pics to show her dates when they come over to meet her mom and dad!
