Month In Review

I can't believe I let a whole month go by without updating my blog. Here is a brief overview of the last few weeks...
My van broke down. We need to replace the transmission but we didn't have the $1,500+ that it would cost to do that, so we just had the mechanic put a "band-aid" on it and hope that it would last. During the week that I had no car, I made this bag. I was bored and itching for a project, so I decided to make a bag. I have no idea what I'm going to use it for because it's too small to be a diaper bag.

After my van got fixed I took the kids to the doctor to have well checks and get their shots. They were behind on their shots so Ameliah had to get 6 and Cannon had to get 5. Ouch! The kids were grumpy because it was lunch time and I forgot to bring snacks. We waited inside the doctor's office for what seemed like forever before they came in to do the shots. Both kids were crying before they got started. Once the shots started, the crying went up several notches. Ameliah went first. While I was trying to comfort her, Cannon was at me feet wailing on the floor. The nurse made me hold him while he got his shots. That was a hard task! That boy is strong and he was determined to get away. That appointment was among the top worst experiences of my life! I told Todd that next time he had to come with me because I'm not doing it by myself again.

The next day, I got sick. Then Todd got sick. Then Ameliah got sick. Then Cannon got sick. We had a rough couple of weeks. It seemed like neither Todd or I could get enough rest to get better, so it lingered for a while.
Every weekend in October we have face painting at Schnepf Farms Pumpkin Patch. I have been working there a ton! I practiced on Ameliah. She thought it was fun at first, but as soon as I was done taking pictures, she asked me to clean it off.
One night we changed Cannon and put him to bed. Ameliah found the clothes we had just taken off him and put them on herself. She was so proud of herself that she was jumping up and down and celebrating. I didn't have the heart to tell her that the shirt was backwards and inside out. It's hard to believe that my children that are almost 2 years apart can fit into the same clothes!
Todd's sister Julie lives in Idaho, but she came down to paint at the Pumpkin Patch. She brought Riley (who is 6 months younger than Ameliah) and Parker, the newest addition to their family. They stayed with us and those little girls had a great time playing together. I found them playing with their babies on the treadmill. It was too cute.
In the morning they both wanted yogurt for breakfast....
...then Cannon came along and finished up what the girls didn't eat. I was surprised at how well he did with a spoon. When he was done, he tipped the cup upside down and spilled and spread yogurt all over my table.
That's about it. It's been quite an eventful month.
